We’re delighted to welcome Mairtin Tucker as a Senior Tax Manager
We’re pleased to welcome Mairtin Tucker, who has joined PKF as a Senior Tax Manager. With a background in both law and tax accountancy, and nearly a decade of experience in the Jersey market, Mairtin brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for advisory work to our growing tax team.

Welcome to PKF! First things first – can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I grew up in Huddersfield and lived there until university, before moving to Jersey seven years ago. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with friends, going to the gym (a love–hate relationship!), coastal walks, gardening, and listening to 80’s music.
Can you tell us a bit about your professional background and what led you to join PKF?
I studied law at Newcastle University, before going on to complete the BPTC and a master’s in law at the University of Law in Leeds. Shortly after, I moved to Jersey and joined Deloitte’s tax team as an associate. I stayed there for almost seven years, leaving as a manager. I was drawn to PKF’s reputation in the local market, and to the opportunities for fresh challenges and personal growth that the role offers.
What made you choose a career in tax and finance?
I always wanted to pursue a career in tax, originally as a tax barrister. But during the BPTC, I had a change of heart, realising that a career in tax accountancy would suit me better personally. It allowed me to stay within the tax world while offering a career path that felt more aligned with my interests and strengths.
What does your role involve here at PKF?
As a Senior Tax Manager, my role is to service and help grow the client base. I’ll also be supporting the development of junior team members, helping them to advance in their own careers here at the firm.
What are you most looking forward to working on?
I’m looking forward to working with a more varied client base, particularly gaining exposure to UK taxes and being involved in work that is more advisory than compliance-based. I’m excited to keep building relationships with clients, getting involved in more advisory work, and supporting the team as we grow.
First impressions count – how have your first few weeks been?
My first few weeks have been great, it’s hard to believe I’m already two months in! The workload has been as varied and interesting as I hoped, and the team (and wider office) have been so welcoming, which has really helped me settle in quickly.
And finally, what’s your go-to drink order when it’s your turn for the tea round?
Usually a pretty strong coffee!
